Royal recognition for IFS CEO’s social impact

International Food Services (IFS) is more than a global maritime catering company, as much as the Antwerp City Pirates are more than just a football club - both organizations have social responsibility at the heart of what they do.

Social responsibility is a key value for IFS, which proudly sponsors the Antwerp City Pirates, as a way of showing its commitment to community welfare and youth development.

The sponsorship supports the work undertaken by the City Pirates to actively engage with the local community, in order to play a significant social role in the area.

The bond between IFS and City Pirates is further strengthened by the link with IFS CEO, Michel Pradolini, who also acts  as the chairman of City Pirates. His leadership in social responsibility for IFS and the City Pirates has fostered a culture of mutual support between both organizations, while also providing IFS with the opportunity to show its initiative in corporate social responsibility.

The work and commitment shown by the IFS CEO with City Pirates has now been awarded a recognition at the highest level in Belgium, on King’s Day, November 15.

Michel Pradolini’s social impact was recognized by King Philippe as he was granted the title of Baron for his contribution to society through the Antwerp City Pirates project. This prestigious recognition is not just an honor for him but also showcases the positive social impact the City Pirates are having in the community.

With a rich history dating back to 1921, the club has evolved into a symbol of positive social impact in Antwerp, transcending the traditional boundaries of being only a sports organization.

The City Pirates use football as a vehicle for social change, offering multiple programs which include educational support, tutoring for young players, community outreach initiatives such as local clean-up events and charity drives.

The City Pirates are just one of the social initiatives supported by IFS. The company also carries out numerous training programs in the Philippines, which include the involvement of children who live in extreme poverty.

The work done by IFS with the Anak Tnk Foundation seeks to provide free training to children who live on the streets, in order to provide them with skills and knowledge that could kick start a career in the catering industry.
